Introducción: La Medicina Tradicional y Natural (MNT) abarca la sumatoria de conocimientos habilidades y prácticas de diferentes culturas trasmitidos de generación en generación; utilizados en la promoción, prevención, tratamiento y rehabilitación de múltiples enfermedades.

Objetivos: Evaluar la efectividad del tratamiento Acupuntual y con Ventosa  en pacientes con el Síndrome Bi Lumbar Agudo en el Hospital Provincial de Ciego de Ávila.

Métodos: Se realizó un estudio prospectivo y longitudinal para determinar la efectividad del tratamiento de Acupuntura y la Ventosa en los pacientes que acuden al servicio de Medicina Natural y Tradicional (MNT) entre los meses de Septiembre del 2015 a Enero del 2016, afectados con Síndrome Bi Lumbar agudo. El universo estuvo constituido por 60 pacientes, la muestra fue representada por el 100%.Los datos fueron extraídos de una encuesta diseñada al efecto y en ella se reflejaron las variables edad, sexo, tratamiento anterior, reacciones adversas, frecuencia y efectividad.

Resultados: Dicha terapéutica fue aplicada fundamentalmente en el sexo masculino con 34 casos para un 56,6%, predominando 42 pacientes (70%)que recibieron tratamiento convencional anterior, no existieron  reacciones adversas  en  56de los pacientes tratados para un 93,3%, luego de cinco  a diez sesiones de tratamiento se logro la mejoría total de 52 pacientes para un 86,6% demostrando la efectividad de la terapia aplicada.

Conclusiones: se demostró la efectividad del tratamiento Acupuntual y con Ventosa  en pacientes con el Síndrome Bi Lumbar Agudo

SUMMARY

Introduction: Traditional and Natural Medicine (NTM) encompasses the sum of knowledge, skills and practices of different cultures transmitted from generation to generation; Used in the promotion, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of multiple diseases.

Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of Acupuntual and Ventosa treatment in patients with Acute Lumbar Bi Syndrome in the Provincial Hospital of Ciego de Ávila.

METHODS: A prospective and longitudinal study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of Acupuncture and Ventosa treatment in patients attending the Natural and Traditional Medicine service between September 2015 and January 2016, affected with Syndrome Bi Lumbar acute. The sample consisted of 60 patients, the sample was represented by 100%. The data were extracted from a survey designed for this purpose and reflected the variables age, sex, previous treatment, adverse reactions, frequency and effectiveness.

RESULTS: Thirty-six patients (70%) who received conventional treatment were predominantly male, with 34 cases (56.6%). There were no adverse reactions in 56 of the patients treated for 93.3% After five to ten treatment sessions the total improvement of 52 patients was achieved for 86.6% demonstrating the effectiveness of the therapy applied.

Conclusions: the effectiveness of Acupuntual and Ventosa treatment was demonstrated in patients with Acute Lumbar Biliary Syndrome
